India and Russia to fight Afghan terrorism

India and Russia have agreed to forge a co-ordinated strategy to deal with threats of terrorism, narcotics and "extremist ideology" in Afghanistan.

The decision follows a two-day meeting between foreign ministry officials in Moscow.

It comes after both India and Russia accused Afghan-based militants of creating ethnic unrest in former Soviet central Asian republics as well as Indian-controlled Kashmir.

But the Taliban's charge d'affairs in Islamabad, Mohamad Suhail Shaheem has accused New Delhi and Moscow of hypocrisy.

India and Russia is using the Osama issue to deteriorate relations between Afghanistan and America and also to use this issue for their own political benefit and economic benefit in Central Asia and other parts of the world.
