South Korean military to buy anthrax vaccines

South Korea's military is reported to be stocking up on anthrax vaccines in the new year, as a precaution against possible biological terrorism.

The Associated Press quotes a defence ministry official as saying Seoul will spend two-million dollars on vaccines from the United States and Russia, to innoculate 10,000 soldiers.

A-P reports the South Korean military currently has no anthrax vaccine in stock for its 650,000 troops.

Concerns over possible biological terrorism have heightened since the discovery of anthrax-tainted letters in America other countries following the September 11 terror attacks in New York and Washington.
