Coalition troops launch new offensive against Taliban & al Qauda

More than a thousand coalition troops have launched a new offensive against Taliban and al Qaeda fighters in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan.

Britain's Ministry of Defence says more than one thousand Royal Marines have been sent to hunt out al Qaeda remnants known to have been active in the region close to the border with Pakistan.

They've joined U-S , Australian and Canadian forces near the city of Khost.
