Prosecutors seek arrest warrant for President's son

South Korean prosecutors are seeking an arrest warrant for a son of President Kim Dae-Jung in their first step to indict him on corruption charges.

Kim Hong-Gul, the youngest of the president's three sons, has been charged with receiving cash and shares worth more than one million U-S dollars in bribes from a sports betting firm.

Should an arrest warrant be issued, he'll be put on remand to wait for a formal trial.

Kim Hong-Gul has admitted to receiving money but has flatly denied his involvement in lobbying efforts.
