Killer heat wave dessicates Bangladesh

At least 29 more people have died in Bangladesh's worst heatwave in 13 years taking the death toll over the past two days to 45.

Health officials say hospitals are receiving hundreds of patients suffering heat stroke in temperatures that have soared to 43.4 degrees Celsius .

Meteorologists say the unusual heat is caused by a low pressure front in the Bay of Bengal.

In neighbouring India, a heatwave has claimed 760 lives in the past month.
