Two Australian pilots hope to continue flight from India this week

Two South Australian pilots, stranded in India after the government impounded their plane, may not be able to continue their journey to London until later this week.

Chris and Kym Brougham, the former operators of the now defunct Whyalla Airlines, are due to take part in the London-to-Sydney Centenary of Federation Air Race.

Civil Aviation authorities in India say they failed to provide the correct paperwork during a refuelling stop last week.

Chris Brougham says time is running short, but he's hopeful they'll hear from the High Commission in New Delhi either tomorrow or Wednesday:

"The one thing that we've definitely got ever since we came here is were not going to get a quick decision and they'll do it when they're ready to do it. It's certainly putting the pressure on us and if we can get out of here by Wednesday then we can make London in comfortable time."
