Two Australian pilots grounded in India to leave later today Two Australian pilots grounded in India for 11-days will leave for London later today, hoping to make next week's start of the Centennary of Federation Race to Sydney. Brothers Kim and Chris Brougham were grounded in Patna in the eastern state of Bihar on Sunday of last week because they didn't have written permission to land. The operators of the new defunct Wyalla Airlines believe they had the right clearance only to have their single engine Cessna sealed by police. Getting permission to leave seems to have been held up in Indian departments concerned with security, including the powerful home ministry. The pair are spending the night in Mumbai before flying onto London via teh Middle East. The Brougham brothers had operations of their Wyalla Airlines suspended in June after the Civil Aviation Safety Authority found they placed a high workload on pilots and may not have maintained accurate flight records. 2/03/01 14:04:53 | ABC Radio Australia News
