Investigation into crash on Bombay Stock Exchange
The Indian stock market regulator has launched a probe into last week's crash on the Bombay Stock Exchange amid rumours of manipulation by certain brokers.
News of the investigation by the Securities and Exchange Board of India saw the exchange's benchmark index plunge nearly 125-points or three-per cent.
Reports say the probe will look into the market operations of Morgan Stanley and other foreign institutional investors, as well as domestic financial houses.
The inquiry follows Friday's 176-point crash.
