Search continues for missing Russians in Taiwan Strait

Authorities in Taiwan have intensified their search for four Russian sailors missing after their vessel sank in the northern Taiwan Strait.

The Cambodian-registered Pamela Dream, which was carrying timber from Malaysia to South Korea had a crew of 19 Russian nationals.

Three bodies have been recovered and 12 of the Russians were rescued by nearby vessels.

The accident is said to have occurred in bad weather about 55 kilometres east of the Taiwan-controlled Wuchiu Island off China's Fujian Province.
