Australia opens university campus in Indian city of Hyderabad
Australia is to create a university campus in Hyderabad, at the centre of India's computer software industry.
Graeme Dobell reports that the institute will teach the same courses as the University of Canberra.
Those enrolling at the Australian Institute of Technology in Hyderabad will also be registered at the University of Canberra. The first students will begin courses in July. They'll do half their studies in India and half in Australia, and will receive Australian degrees. The initial courses will be in software engineering and information technology. Canberra University says the Austrlian Institute in Hyderabad is the first of its kind in India...but the partnership agreement with an Indian firm allows for other branches to be created in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
