Malaysian archaeologists unearth Stone Age settlement
Malaysian archaeologists have unearthed what is believed to be Southeast Asia's largest intact early Stone Age settlement.
The AFP news agency reports the site, which dates back 20 to 30 thousand years, includes thousands of sophisticated tools.
It's thought to be the largest untouched site discovered in the region from the Palaeolithic era, the earlier part of the Stone Age. Archaeologists from the Science University of Malaysia made the discovery near Lenggong in the northwestern state of Perak.
