Russia and China to strengthen bilateral ties
Russia's President Vladimir Putin and the Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan have held talks in Moscow against a background of increased tension in relations with the United States.
Mr Putin says Russia and China have no major differences and both are opposed to the dominance of the world stage by the American super-power.
Mr Tang also met Russian Foreign Minster Igor Ivanov and agreed that the two countries will sign a treaty of good-neighborly relations, friendship and cooperation when Chinese President Jiang Zemin visits Russia in mid-July.
The Russian foreign minister told a press conference that the two countries share the same stance on strategic stability and security around the world.
Both country's ties with the U.S. have deteriorated recently, with Washington and Moscow recently involved in mutual expulsion of spies and China angered by Washington's decision to provide weapons to Taiwan.
