Sri Lanka has asked Norway to press ahead with its efforts to arrange a direct face-to-face meeting with Tamil Tiger guerrillas.

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar says he has asked his Norwegian counterpart Thorbjorn Jagland to ratify what has already been agreed between the Colombo government and tamil Tiger rebels in a document.

He says in view of the work done already done toward peace Sri Lanka wants Norway to renew efforts to get the peace process moving.
