Seperatists violence erupts in Indonesia

At least ten people have been killed in religious and separatist violence in two Indonesian trouble spots.

In Sulawesi, an armed Muslim gang attacked a Christian district in Poso town, killing three people and destroying several houses.

Earlier, three Muslims were murdered by a Christian gang.

Indonesian police have also arrested eight men as they were about to shoot workers at a plantation in Poso.

The Poso district has been the scene of recurrent violent clashes between Muslims and Christians since April last year.

The violence coincides with an overseas tour by President Abdurrahman Wahid, who is on the fourth day of a tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
