Malay police shoot dead Indonesian gang members

Police in Malaysia have reportedly shot dead eight Indonesians, believed to be part of a gang responsible for crimes including rape, murder and house burglaries.

Malaysian press reports say the eight were killed in a shoot-out with police.

Police have already detained 105-Indonesians in their operation to crack the criminal network.

The gangs are suspected to be involved in the murder of a police officer and a female lecturer.

Malaysia has also contacted Interpol in Indonesia to track down 22-men still on the loose.
