Rescue workers head to Indonesian landslide disaster

Rescue workers are on their way to the Indonesian island of Nias, where flash floods and landslides have killed 31 people and left 99 missing.

The storm, which struck the island off northwest Sumatra early Tuesday as most people were sleeping, swept away scores of homes.

But earlier estimates of the number of missing were drastically scaled down as hundreds of peope returned to their homes from higher ground where they had taken refuge.
