Indonesian authorities pick-up 300 asylum seekers

Indonesian authorities have picked up a group of almost 300 asylum seekers who were travelling through Indonesia.

Ginny Stein reports:

The group of 145 men, 74 women and 77 children were travelling by bus in West Java when police intercepted them. A local police chief says the group was believed to be making their way to the coast. He says the group, mostly of Iraqi descent gave no indication of their intended destination. Earlier today police confirmed that almost 100 asylum seekers shipwrecked on a prison island off Java a month ago had escaped. There is no indiction of their whereabouts.
