Australian Navy apprehends six Indonesian fishing boats

The Australian Navy has apprehended six Indonesian fishing trawlers in the Australian Fishing Zone.

The six Indonesian vessels were caught 90-nautical miles off the north-east tip of the Northern Territory.

The trawlers were escorted today into Darwin harbour -- some of them being towed.

A statement from the Australian Fisheries Management Authority says the boats are suspected of being part of a larger number illegally fishing in Australian waters.
