Tight security on anniversary of destruction of Indian mosque
There's tight security across India to mark the anniversary of the destruction nine years ago of a 16th century mosque which triggered bloody riots.
Authorities in the northern town of Ayodhya, where a mosque was brought down by Hindu zealots, banned any demonstrations around the site sacred to both Muslims and Hindus.
More than three-thousand people died in religious riots across India after the mosque was razed in 1992.
Police in New Delhi have also been on alert to prevent any incidents, while both houses of the Indian parliament have been suspended because of divisions over the issue.
