Seven killed and 14 injured in Kashmir
Seven people have been killed and 14 others injured in explosions and shootouts in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Police say 14 people were injured when a grenade, thrown at a security patrol in Srinagar by suspected Muslim militants, missed its target and exploded among a group of pedestrians. Four of the injured are in a critical condition. Police officials say Indian troops, backed by counter-insurgency police, shot dead four militants in two separate encounters in the southern Kashmir districts of Rajouri and Poonch, while another militant was shot dead in Baramulla district. In other isolated incidents, police said militants killed two people.
