Authorities in China say nine people have been killed and 46 injured in a series of explosions at a fireworks factory in the south-eastern Province of Jiangxi.
An initial explosion in a warehouse set off a series of blasts which destroyed 10 of the 11 separate buildings within the factory complex.
Shockwaves from the blasts could be felt 60 kilometres away in the regional capital, Guangzhou.
Meanwhile, nine people have been killed and 26 injured when a brick furnace exploded in the south-west of China.
The Xinhua news agency says an inquiry has opened into the blast which happened in a village in the autonomous Guangxi region.
