Indonesia's president comes in for criticism
Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri has been criticised for taking a five day break over the new year.
The president and her family flew to Bali on saturday to celebrate her husband's 59th birthday and to see in the new year.
The deputy chairman of the parliament, Muhaimin Iskander says the president shows a lack of urgency for the things that needs to be done.
These include final preparations for the 2002 state budget which will take effect on Tuesday, electricity tariff hikes to take place in early January and the reorganisation of the accident-prone railway system.
