Indonesia tries to attract more tourists
Indonesia has sought to combat foreign fears of militant Muslims by stepping up security for tourists.
Tourism Minister I Gede Ardhika says the country's tourism depends a lot on safety and security for foreign travellers and the government has reinforced both.
Tourism has traditionally been a major revenue earner for Indonesia, but the sector has taken a beating since the September 11 terror attacks in the United States, when the number of travellers to Asia dropped sharply.
Mr Ardhika, was speaking at the venue for this year's Association of Southeast Asian Nations Tourism Forum in Jogjakarta which is aimed at boosting visitors to the region.
