US forces continue to raid targets in Afghanistan

Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, American forces are continuing their hunt for pockets of al-Qaeda and Taliban resistance fighters.

From Kabul, Jonathan Harley reports.

US forces raided a camp of Afghan nomads in eastern Khost province on suspicion that Taliban and al-Qaeda members were hiding with them, the Afghan Islamic press has reported. Some 30 US soldiers entered the camp late on Friday, while jets and helicopters circled overhead, the agency said quoting witnesses, but no al-Qaeda or Taliban were found. Meanwhile, a record 19 flights carrying troops and supplies for the international security and assistance force arrived in Kabul on Saturday, with more landing yesterday. 4,500 soldiers from 17 countries are expected in Afghanistan by mid-February.
