Chinese police announce huge heroin haul
Authorities in China say they have made their biggest haul of illegal drugs, seizing almost 700 kilograms of heroin.
The official Xinhua news agency says 21 people have been arrested, 12 of them from Hong Kong. The seizure of the drugs is said to have occurred in November, but has only now been made public.
It's said to have stemmed from a check of a truck on the border between the south-western province of Yunnan and Burma.
Xinhua says the smashing of the operation was the culmination of a lengthy police investigation into drug smuggling from Burma to Yunnan.
