Seven senior officials indicted in Indonesia

Indonesian prosecutors have indicted seven senior officials, including a former governor of East Timor, for crimes including mass killings in the territory, at the time of the 1999 autonomy vote.

Mark Bowling reports, it's alleged each of the suspects played roles in a massacre in the East Timor town of Suai:

"Scores of East Timorese refugees and priests were killed in Suai's church complex. Three senior officials have been named in files handed over to a tribunal that will hear the human rights cases. The officials are former East Timor Governor, Abilio Soares, police chief Brigadier General Timbul Silaen and Colonel Herman Sedyono, a former district head. If found guilty they could face the death penalty.
