Thousands of Indonesian Muslims protest over Israel

Some two-thousand Indonesian Muslims have taken to the streets of Jakarta calling for an end to Israeli military action against the Palestinians, in the third consecutive day of protests.

Wearing mainly traditional white Muslim dress, thousands of protesters gathered outside the office of the United Nations in central Jakarta shouting slogans in support of the Palestinians.

The peaceful protest followed a mass prayer session at one of Jakarta's main mosques, attended by the Palestinian ambassador to Indonesia.
