Founder of Taiwan's China Times group dies
The founder of Taiwan's influential China Times news group and a senior member of the opposition Kuomintang, Yu Chi-chung, has died.
Mr Yu, who was 93, hailed from the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.
His group runs the China Times, China Times Express evening daily, Commercial Times and China Times Weekly.
As a KMT member, Mr Yu called for a "confederation" to settle Taiwan's sovereignty dispute with China.
The concept envisages a transitional period during which Taiwan and China operate as a confederation, before a potential reunification under the principles of democracy, freedom and equitable distribution of wealth can take place.
