Reports that North Korean leader sending aid to South Korea

North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-Il is reported to be planning to send a top aide to South Korea later this year.

The move which was reported in the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun in a dispatch from Seoul, appears to indicate he will not be making his promised return summit visit.

South Korean President Kim Dae-Jung visited North Korea in June 2000 for a landmark inter-Korean summit with Kim Jong-Il.
