Philippine authorities detain foreign nationals for illegal entry

Local authorities in the Philippines have detained 17 Chinese fishermen and two Indonesians for illegal entry in the central and southern Philippines.

Maritime police boarded a fishing vessel after a high seas chase in the Sulu Sea on Sunday and detained its 17 Chinese crew

The police also seized the boat which was found to contain cyanide, explosives, and a fish which was poisoned and caught using the cyanide.

Meanwhile two Indonesians without travel papers were also arrested on board a fishing boat off the southern coast of Mindanao island on Tuesday.

Police says it's not clear where they were going.
