Afghani refugees return home en mass
The United Nations says nearly 800-thousand Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland since the beginning of the year,
UN High Commissioner for Refugees spokesman Yusuf Hassan says the majority have been repatriated from Pakistan, followed by Iran.
The UN agency says the return of Afghan's former King Mohammd Zahir combined with steady improvement in the security situation and improving weather conditions have supported the return.
However three million Afghan refugees still live in Pakistan and in Iran.
Those returning to their homeland receive an allowance of 100 dollars per family of six people, as well as food rations for three months and other essential items to help them settle in.
