China warns Washington over Taiwan arms sales
China has warned the United States against selling sophisticated destroyers and missiles to Taiwan, saying the proposed sale would cause "serious dangers".
Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan told journalists in Beijing the Washington was riding on the side of the precipice with its arms sales plans.
The US government is due to decide in April what new weapons it will sell to Taiwan.
Under the Taiwan Relations Act it is obliged to sell the island enough arms to defend itself.
