Kashmiri militants disappointed with U-N chief's Pakistan visit
Kashmiri separatist groups have accused United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, of shirking his responsibilities in the troubled region following his visit to Pakistan.
They say Mr Annan's views on the U-N resolution of the Kashmir dispute amount to encouragement for India to step up repression in the territory.
Kashmir's largest militant group, the Hizbul Mujahideen, says Mr Annan overlooked his responsibilities regarding fulfilment of U-N resolutions on Kashmir.
Mr Annan met Pakistan's military leader General Pervez Musharraf and underlined the need for dialogue between New Delhi and Islamabad to settle their bitter row over Kashmir.
Meanwhile, India's Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee has announced plans for an early resumption of talks on Kashmir.
He told parliament that India would soon start talks with all parties to find a solution to the situation in Kashmir, but without specifying who would be involved.
