Indonesia's telecommunications companies may be privatised
Indonesian telecoms carriers Telkom and Indosat may be privatised this year.
Indonesia's director general for state enterprises Nyoman Cager says the two state enterprise can be privatized this year, but he cannot yet say the amount of shares to be offered.
The government currently holds 65 percent in each of the two companies and it is expected to retain at least a 51 percent stake to retain control.
Meanwhile, a team from the International Monetary Fund has arrived in Jakarta to review the government's new reform pledges with a focus on measures to achieve macroeconomic and monetary stability.
The team, headed by IMF Asia Pacific director Anoop Singh, is to stay in Jakarta for eight or nine days to review the progress on past reform pledges and discuss an updated agreement.
