Indonesia minister raises suspicions about attorney-general's death
Indonesia's Defence Minister Mohammad Mahfud is reported to have raised suspicions about the death of the country's attorney general.
Baharuddin Lopa died earlier this week after undergoing emergency heart surgery in Saudi Arabia.
He had a reputation as an anti-corruption crusader ...and had also been at the forefront of attempts by the President Abdurrahman Wahid to stave off impeachment.
The Jakarta Post reported Mr Mahfud as saying Mr Lopa had realised that his position made vulnerable, and described his death as suspicious.
However, state prosecutors have flatly denied there are any indications of foul play in the passing of Attorney General , who was 66.
