Leading suspect in assassination of Indonesian judge, dies in custody

A leading suspect in the assassination of an Indonesian judge, who sentenced the fugitive son of former President Suharto to prison, has died in police custody.

Police have accused Suharto's youngest son, Tommy, of ordering the killing of the Supreme Court justice last month.

Police say the suspect, 61-year-old retired army Lietenant Colonel Wiyono, died from a suspected heart attack brought on by high blood pressure.

They say there were no indications of foul play, adding that an autopsy will be carried out on the body.

Colonel Wiyono was arrested earlier this month over his alleged role in the killing of the judge after police accused him of supplying the murder weapon to Tommy, who later gave it to two assassins.

Tommy has been on the run since he was convicted of corruption last year and sentenced to 18-months jail.
