Second batch of asylum seekers stuck in Indonesia
A large group of asylum seekers trying to travel to Australia amid a diplomatic row over a separate boatload of illegal immigrants, is holed up on an Indonesian island.
Police and a United Nations agency say about 150 asylum seekers, mainly from Afghanistan and Iraq, are staying at a government guesthouse on eastern Lombok island.
Police say the group has no immediate plan to leave Lombok.
Officials at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jakarta say the group is under police guard, although police denied the asylum seekers were being held.
A U-N-H-C-R protection officer in Jakarta, says the Lombok group initially numbered about 300, but half have escaped and their whereabouts is unknown.
