Indonesia reiterates it will bar stranded boatpeople

Indonesia has reiterated it will not accept the Norwegian ship carrying the 438 asylum-seekers.

Indonesia's Foreign Minister, Hassan Wirayuda, says it will not accept illegal migrants, despite the group's intention to go to Australia.

Mr Wirayuda told a news conference after a meeting of security ministers, that Indonesia was under no international obligation to accept the asylum-seekers.

The Foreign Minister said Indonesia was willing to cooperate with other countries on ways to combat the problem of illegal trafficking in people.
