North and South Korea set deadlock breaking talks
North and South Korea have agreed to hold their first ministerial talks for nine months in a bid to resuscitate their flagging peace process.
Within hours of receiving an offer from South Korean authorities, Pyongyang said it would attend negotiations in Seoul from September the 15th until the 18th.
The North Korea's official media confirmed that an official had contacted the South to agree to the dates.
South Korea proposed the talks in response to the North's surprise announcement this week that it was ready to end a freeze on contacts.
It was not known who would lead the talks.
