Radical Muslim groups in Indonesia hunt down Americans
Several radical Indonesian Muslim groups began a hunt last night for foreign tourists in Central Java, following threats from Muslim groups toward the United States in the event of retaliatory action for the terrorist attacks in the US.
Groups of between 25 and 30 people with the so-called Anti-American Terrorist Force, visited Adi Sumarmo International Airport and five-star hotels in Surakarta, and forced staff to provide information on foreigners. The five hotels visited by the radical groups were Novotel, Sahid Raya, Agas, Quality and Lor In. Group spokesman Abdul Khoir said there was no evidence of Americans staying at any of the hotels and only Japanese were found among foreigners. Indonesia is home to the world's largest Muslim population.
