Kashmir suicide bombing group linked to bin Laden: India
The Indian government says the militant group which carried out a devastating bomb attack on Kashmir's state legislature killing 38 people has links with Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.
New Delhi has urged the US to freeze the assets of Kashmiri Muslim rebel groups, including Jaish-e-Mohammad which claimed responsibility for Monday's suicide bombing in the Kashmiri summer capital Srinagar which also injured 50 people. India's Foreign Minister Omar Abdullah says there are strong and credible links between Jaish and bin Laden's group." He says Indian security agencies possess a document signed by bin Laden and the head of Jaish-e-Mohammad calling for a holy Islamic war against the United States and the Jews.
Monday's blast was Kashmir's deadliest terror attack for a decade.
