Indonesia working to freeze terrorist assets
Indonesian police say they are working with Interpol to find and freeze any terrorist assets hidden in the country in line with UN resolutions.
National police chief General Saroyo Bimantoro said police would ask the central bank to freeze the assets of any allegedly terrorist organisation if it violated Indonesian law. Chief political and security affairs minister Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the government would fulfil the UN Security Council resolution which requires all member states to identify and freeze terrorist assets.
He said the attorney general's office had written to the central bank asking its help in efforts to track down terrorist assets.
