Twin girls to go home to Nepal 1 year after landmark surgery

Twin girls from Nepal who were born joined at the head have left Singapore to go home, a year after landmark surgery to separate them.

The people of Singapore took the little girls to heart, helping pay their medical bills -- Singapore Airlines covered the family's fare to hospital and today's trip back to Kathmandu.

Last year, 20 surgeons working in shifts took 100 hours to separate the twins -- one of very few operations of its kind to succeed.

Doctors say the girls will need special care, probably for the rest of their lives.
