U-S tightens noose around Al Qaeda members

The United States says it's tightening the net around the Taliban's remaining strongholds in southern Afghanstan.

The Northern Alliance is due to hand over the first captured al-Qaeda member, Ahmen Omar Abdel-Rahman, to the U-S shortly.

Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the US is determined not to let any terrrorists captured by the Afghan opposition .. escape to another country.

We would do everything reasonable to see that we had access to those people. First to interrogate them and to find out who they are and second if they are people we believe we want, to actually get physical custody over them them.
