Indian armed forces move to border with Pakistan
Hundreds of Indian army tanks and other army vehicles are moving towards the western border with Pakistan.
Officials say the frontier with Pakistan has been put on high alert since last weeks attack on the Indian parliament by five armed gunmen, who India has identified as Pakistan-based militants backed by Pakistani military intelligence.
The army has told railway authorities that some local and long distance trains may be commandeered for troop movements.
The Border Security Force and the Indian Air Force are on high alert amid reports that Pakistan is also massing troops along the frontier. India says it's keeping all options open in considering how to respond to the attack on parliament. Pakistan denies any involvement and warns of grave consequences if India undertakes any cross-border operation.
