Dozens of women being tested in Hong Kong for mercury poisoning Dozens of women in Hong Kong are being tested for mercury poisoning following an official warning about a Chinese-made face cream. "Hong Kong's Department of Health says it plans to screen more users of the Chinese-made Youdi face cream following the first tests carried out on 35 local women. Of those, three were referred for extra tests, while an Indonesian national who had used the cream regularly for four months was diagnosed with mercury poisoning. The Health department had earlier issued a warning after tests showed the cream contained mercury far in excess of acceptable levels. Some patients complained of hand tremors, others of lost hearing and memory." 8/01/02 14:07:43 | ABC Radio Australia News
