India sees no shift in Pakistani stand on militants
India says it can see no shift in Pakistan's stand on cross-border terrorism, despite President Pervez Musharraf's statement condemning terrorism in all its forms.
Foreign ministry spokeswoman Nirupama Rao has told a news conference, New Delhi is still awaiting concrete steps by Pakistan against guerrilla groups India says are operating from its soil against the country. Meanwhile Pakistan says the military tensions between the two countries have not eased over the past 24 hours, despite British Prime Minister Tony Blair's peace-making mission to South Asia. Mr Blair has now returned home.
But, Pakistan foreign ministry spokesman Aziz Ahmed Khan says Pakistan will not stop trying to bring India to the negotiating table to discuss their long-standing differences.
The nuclear rivals have massed troops on their borders following last month's attack on the Indian parliament which New Delhi blames on two Pakistan-based militant groups.
