Security boosted for Cambodian elections
Cambodia's government has boosted security ahead of key weekend elections, ordering the army to protect all candidates after two more political activists were slain.
The deaths brought the number of killings in violence in the run-up to the vote to 21.
Interior Minister Sar Kheng issued a special decree ahead of Sunday's key local district elections -- the first in 30 years which could see the ruling Cambodian People's Party lose some areas to its rivals.
The decree will remain in place after Sunday's vote to ensure there is no tampering with the ballots boxes as they are transported to counting centres.
The heightened security alert came as King Norodom Sihanouk asrrived home after routine medical treatment in Beijing.
