Pakistan President assures Afghan interim leader

Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf has assured interim Afghanistan leader Hamid Karzai of Islamabad's full backing and vowed his country will not interfere in its neighbour's affairs.

The Afghan leader is on his first official visit to Pakistan since taking over as leader of Afghanistan's interim government.

Pakistan is distrusted by many Afghans because of it's backing of the former Taliban regime.

However President Musharraf has streesed that a new era of relations between the two countries has been established .

We have agreed unanimously without any reservations on working together to develop strong brotherly cooperation, brotherly relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan in all spheres of activity.
