Karzai asks Saudi ambassador for extradition
Afghanistan's interim leader, Hamid Karzai, has met the Saudi ambassador to neighbouring Pakistan and reportedly asked for the extradition of alleged assassins of the aviation minister.
State television says Mr Karzai discussed the murder of Aviation and Tourism Minister Abdul Rahman on Thursday at Kabul's airport, and the possible extradition of Afghans accused of taking part in the killing.
Earlier, Mr Karzai says five people had been arrested in Afghanistan in relation to the murder, two others were at large in the country and three more had fled to Saudi Arabia disguised as pilgrims to Mecca.
Witnesses have described how the minister was attacked by angry pilgrims who had been waiting for days to get flights to Mecca, but Mr Karzai insists the murder was the result of a personnal vendetta involving several senior officials.
